Situated in the area of Wat Phra That Choeng Chum, Mueang district, Sakon Nakhon province, this stupa is said to be built to cover the footprint of four Buddhas, hence its name ‘Choeng Chum’ which is given in local language. The architectural structure is based on Lan Chang arts dating back to 22nd Buddhist Era.

Muangboran The Ancient City reproduced the stupa in the same measurement of 24H m. × 7.5W m. × 7.5L m. as the original design. The interior enshrines Buddha’s footprints according to the legend. The topmost part of the stupa enshrines Buddha’s relics. The stupa itself is surrounded by a low wall ‘Kamphaeng Kaeo’ decorated with eight winding Nagas each of which turning its head inwardly at each of the 4 entrances.
